Our yacht
Our POGO 12.50 yacht, skinny sportic racing goat! Very sharpy bow, ver wide aft. And power under steering wheel! Our POGO 12.50 yacht, skinny sportic racing goat!
I really love to sail fast racing yachts. But a pure racing yacht, such as typical Class 40, is optimized for the racing. There is minimal comfort in order to optimize the weight of the yacht. No shower, minimal WC and often even no fridge. Really difficult to sail with the crew of nosailors!
POGO12.50 is a really good solution of this problem. It offers the comfort of a typical cruising yacht, swinging keel and still, capable to surf lke a goat!

Mirrorlike sea at first day.
First day we didn't have a chance to get this goat to run. So were motoring slowy towards the only croatian fjord!
-
Arrived to the achor bay, prepared dinner with some wine we enjoyed the evening.
We got later on the shore and found nice beach bar. Also we found out that is a naturistic bay :-) So it has a nice touch. Not that touch. :-)

Croatia's only fjord
Limski canal (fjord) is finally available for the yachts and we used this opportunity to explore it.Limski canal (fjord) is finally available for yachts and we used this opportunity to explore it.
Fjord is full of fishing farms, has few anchor spots but still is pretty beautiful.
We passed till its end, made some photos and turned back.
Norwegians would smile for calling it a fjord. If you want to see Norwegian fjords, join to our trips [Sailing impressions] Sailing in Norway

As wind comes, we set the sails and start to practice to sail POGO 12.50.
To know how POGO12.50 reacts on only main, on stay sail, on jib, how one tacks and how ony jybes, one has to do all those things. And we did :-)
Once we left the Limski canal, we head south. Wind is northertn - we can set Code0 and later even the A5 Spinnaker.
-
Once on course, we set A5 Spi and go!
Racing yachts are usually equipped with larger set of sails than a usual cruising yacht.
There are usually Code0, Code5, Assymetric Spi A5 or A2 available. One can really sail as it should be done and how one does it on Volco Ocean Race. Only difference is that we had better weather than thow in South Ocean :-)
-
For night we found a buoy and let us hang around. Croatia has tousends of tausends of islands. Hence there are bays over bays. So we found one for the night.
Some swimming, some relaxing walk on shore and bottle of wine made this evening perfect.

Croatias gems
Islands, bays and the sea - all one needs for the perfect vacations. Stop! Also one good yacht - POGO 12.50 :-)Islands, bays and sea - all one needs for perfect vacations. Stop! Also one good yacht - POGO 12.50 :-)
After the whole day of sailng we were happy to get our feets on shore and to take a walk into the town, to grab some coffee and to enjoy the breeze coming from the sea, hugging us with ador of meadow's flowers.
-
Croatia is also full of small cozy towns, with tiny coffee shops and bakeries.
A short stop for a coffee and some cheese cake is a Must. So we did it before we set sails again with the wish to do what POGO 12.50 does best - to sail! We sailed to Mali Losinj.

Job of "Number One"
On POGO 12.50 there is more jobs to do - specially on bow of the yacht by the special skiller sailor, by the "Number One"On POGO 12.50 there is more jobs to do - specially on bow of the yacht by the special skiller sailor, by the "Number One"
As POGO 12.50 is RACING cruiser, one sets the most front sails (except of staysails) on bow of the yacht. So one practice how to set the Code0 or Spi A5. And that is the most fun! Once the sail is up and is getting filled with the air - niiice.

Mali Losinj ahead
Mali Losinj is a perfect stay city as it is located in the protected bay and having thousands of stores and coffee shops.Mali Losinj is a perfect stay city as it is located in the protected bay and having thousands of stores and coffee shops.
We went into the restaurant, had a nice stroll walk along the pier, grabbbed some coffe and rounded up our day with a board game and with a bottle of wine. Tomorrow one goes back to Pula.

What sailing trip without sighting of playful dolphins.
To our joy we met school of dolphins. They played on our bow, as well we saw the hunting tuna. That was a good wrap-up of the trip.
